Directions to Empire Ranch Observatory

• From Mineral Point, take hwy 151 approximately 3 miles south towards Platteville.
• Take County A to the left, go over the bridge and continue for approximately 3 1/2 miles.
• Turn left on Jones Branch Road/County J
• Follow Jones Branch road for approx 3/4 mile. Take the first gravel driveway on the right marked as 394-396 Jones Branch Road.
• The driveway leads to a house- park by the house and along the road, but don't block the road.
• Follow the path between the barn and stables to the observatory
• Please shut off any white flashlights before approaching the observatory to preserve the night vision of people already there!
• There are no restroom facilities at the observatory other than the corn field.
